Glassed headteacher set for return to work

A headteacher who was glassed during an attack at an Indian restaurant is ready to return to work.
Kieran Heakin required reconstructive surgery after a man smashed two glasses into his face at the Kapana Indian Restaurant on Milkstone Road last month.
Mr Heakin, who lives in Shawclough, will return to his role as headteacher at a Burnley primary school after the Easter holidays. He was previously head at St John's Catholic Primary in Rochdale and former mayor of Whitworth.
Mr Heakin, who is in his late 50s, suffered serious facial injuries in the unprovoked assault.
Jermaine Carl Bullen, age 25, of Albion Road, Freehold has been charged with assault and criminal damage in relation to the attack and is due to appear at Bolton Crown Court on 5 May.
