Five thugs from Heywood have been jailed for their part in an assault on two men on Market Street last summer.
One of the victims was surrounded and continuously kicked and punched him, while the second victim was stamped on after he was knocked to the ground.
The assault was captured on CCTV and even though neither of the victims made a complaint to police, the five were caught and convicted using the footage.
Rochdale Online carried the CCTV footage in a news story as part of the police campaign to encourage witnesses and the victims to come forward.
Six months on, five men that were identified as part of that campaign have been sentenced.
Jordan Wood, 18, of Hornby Street, Ashley Bainbridge, 19, of Cleves Court, Mark Hogg, 21, of Eden Close, Ryan Orman, 21, of Sutherland Road and Lee Orme, 22, of Hartford Avenue, all pleaded guilty to violent disorder at earlier hearings.
Today (Friday 9 January) they were sentenced.
Wood was sentenced to 12 months detention, Orme was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, Orman was jailed for 18 months, Hogg was jailed for six months suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 150 hours community service and Bainbridge was sentenced for four months suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 100 hours community service.
Detective Sergeant Sam Halligan of Rochdale CID said: "Even though no victim ever made a complaint, the strength of the CCTV evidence against the people involved allowed us to charge them for their violent behaviour.
"I would like to thank all the people that came forward with names and details of the men, their help has been instrumental in convicting them.
"There is still one person outstanding who we have not been able to identify. He is the person wearing the silver and black jacket. If anyone has any knowledge of who this person is and where we could find him, please get in touch."
