Shokk sessions at Littleborough
Children and young people can look forward to a busy and entertaining week off school at the end of October with the Half Term Holiday programme available at Link4Life Centres.
Running from Monday 29 October to Friday 2 November activities include a wide range of sports, leisure and cultural activities at Touchstones Rochdale, Middleton Civic Centre plus sports centres and pools in Rochdale, Heywood, Littleborough and Middleton.
Highlights include full day Zone4Sport sessions, a Pool Disco on Thursday at Middleton, SHOKK Youth Gym sessions at Littleborough and Middleton, Dance Mats and Studio Cycling at Middleton, Cheerleading in Rochdale, Mini Tennis and Water Polo at Heywood, Swimming Lessons and a whole range of sports including football, trampoline, athletics, basketball, boxer circuit plus general fun and games sessions.
The Bilston Bear Show is at Middleton Civic Centre on Thursday 1st November at 2pm. Presented by Crackajack Children's Theatre Productions it is billed as 'a children's show that the whole family will enjoy' with music, magic, games and prizes. Tickets can be booked on 0161 643 2389.
Touchstones Rochdale has fun science workshops for 7-11 year olds everyday during the holiday. ‘Forceworks’ is linked to the Key stage 2 science curriculum and has 12 hands-on interactives covering magnets, gravity, pressure and much more. Sessions are held every day throughout half term with led sessions, delivered by the Science Education Group Setpoint, from 10am-12noon, 12.30pm-2.30pm and 3pm-5pm. Entry is free and there’s no need to book
There is also a Young Sports Leaders course for 9-13 year olds taking place at Springhill Sports Centre. This is a fun 9 hour course running over two days from 10am-3pm on Wednesday and Thursday. It's ideal for any young person interested in sport and all participants will gain a recognised qualification that will take them on to higher awards. The course is free and is funded by the Friends of Springhill Sports Centre.
