Rochdale Woman pleads guilty in P&O drug bust
Date published: 16 December 2008
A woman from Rochdale has pleaded guilty to smuggling cocaine aboard a cruise ship.
Natalie Quinn (26) of Littleborough, was caught with 30 kilos of cocaine strapped to her body on board P&O cruise ship, the Arcadia. The attempt to smuggle the drugs into the UK was thwarted when Customs Officers swooped on the ship in October this year.
Quinn and three others pleaded guilty at Southampton Crown Court. Among them was Calvin Hylton, 41, of Manchester.
The smugglers are thought to have carried cocaine at a total value of £1 million.
Three other people were arrested as part of the operation involving HM Revenue and Customs and the UK Border Agency.
