Crucial Crew for Older People heads to the Pennines

Date published: 04 March 2008

Older people from across the borough are invited to a morning of free fun packed safety sessions.

The ‘crucial crew ’ event organised by members of Rochdale Safer Communities Partnership includes a range of short workshops on fire safety, crime prevention, using public transport, mobility issues and other tips on how to keep safe in the home.

Emily Pugh, Trading Standards Crime and Disorder Officer, said: “Crucial crew events are usually a great day out for everyone involved. The agencies enjoy meeting the older people and find it a great way to pass on useful and advice and information.“

Nicola Oldham, Greater Manchester Police HomeWatch Administrator, said: "All over 60’s from the Pennines area are welcome to come along. This will be the third crucial crew event in the borough and we hope it will be as well attended and informative as the others. It should be a lot of fun."

Crucial Crew takes place on Tuesday 25 March, 10.00am until 1.00pm at Littleborough Community Campus in School Hall, Calderbrook road, Littleborough. The event is free and a buffet lunch will be provided. Goody bags packed with useful crime prevention information will be handed out to everyone who attends.
