Rochdale murder investigation: Second arrest made

Police have arrested a second person in connection with a murder in Rochdale on Monday (21 October).

As reported by Rochdale Online News, a murder investigation was launched after officers found a man unresponsive on the floor at a flat on Lower Falinge. CPR was performed at the scene but despite the best efforts of the officers and emergency medical responders, the man sadly died.
 


A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday (22 October) she has since been bailed pending further investigations, but  GMP have confirmed today Friday (25 October) that a man in his 50s has now also been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Naismith said: “Investigations are continuing into the sad death of this man in his 50s, we have been in constant contact with his family and kept them up to speed on developments.

“We are still urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to get in touch with us by calling 101 and quoting log 3748 of 21/10/2024. You can also report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
