The Hopwood Foundation Friends triumphed in Middleton Rotary Club’s annual Community Stars Awards, winning the Group Award.

The awards evening took place at The Lighthouse Project and the mayor, Shakil Ahmed presented The Hopwood Foundation Friends with a beautiful crystal trophy.

The Group Award 'recognise groups and individuals who have made significant contributions to the community through their dedication, hard work, and passion for making a positive impact'.

Hopwood Foundation Chair Hopwood DePree said: "It is an absolute honour to receive this amazing acknowledgement of all the hard work that so many of our Friends have contributed.

"There were a lot of very worthy groups nominated for this award so we are humbled and overjoyed to receive it. This is another great boost in taking our dream to reality of one day reopening the doors of a restored Hopwood Hall for all to enjoy for generations to come."

The Community Stars Awards celebrate those who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others. Whether it’s through volunteer work, leadership, mentorship, or acts of kindness, the awards highlight the unsung heroes who make our community a better place to live.

Each nominee represents the spirit of giving and community service that drives our collective success.
