Summer landscaping project at Stakehill in areas in “dire need” of attention

Date published: 09 September 2024

The Stakehill Industrial Estate in Rochdale has recently undergone a significant landscaping project aimed at enhancing the local environment for businesses operating within the site.

Funded by the Stakehill Business Improvement District (BID), the comprehensive project focused on rejuvenating three key areas within the estate.

The nurture group was tasked with executing the transformation, which targeted the pond on Finlan Road, the stretch of Finlan Road from the junction of Boswell Way to Romac, and Touchet Hall Road – an area that had become overgrown and posed both aesthetic and safety concerns.

Alan Johnson, Stakehill BID manager, said: “The three targeted zones were in dire need of attention.

“Over time, unchecked vegetation had encroached upon pathways, making navigation difficult and hazardous.

“Additionally, accumulated rubbish had marred the estate’s appearance, impacting the overall environment and impression for stakeholders and potential investors.”

The Stakehill BID played a pivotal role in both funding and organising this landscaping effort. Their commitment to improving the estate's environment is a clear reflection of their dedication to supporting local businesses and creating a more attractive and functional space for all stakeholders.

Stakehill BID remains focused on driving essential improvements to Stakehill Industrial Estate, with the goal of not only ensuring that businesses survive but also thrive in these uncertain times.
