Several arrests in Kirkholt crime crackdown

Date published: 24 July 2024

Rochdale's Kirkholt Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a significant anti-social behaviour and youth crime operation on the Kirkholt estate earlier this week. The operation, which took place on Monday and Tuesday, led to several arrests related to the supply of Class A drugs, drink driving, and various traffic offences.

On Monday, 22 July, a male suspect was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class A drugs. His vehicle was seized, and he remains in police custody, assisting with ongoing enquiries.

In a separate incident, an outstanding stolen scooter was recovered from Rhodes Ravine after the offender fled upon spotting the police. The vehicle has since been returned to its rightful owner, and investigations to locate the offender are ongoing.

The following day, Tuesday 23 July, officers stopped a vehicle and arrested two males on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. Both suspects are still in custody, aiding the police with their investigations.

While dealing with these offenders, officers noticed a driver shouting from a passing vehicle. The driver was stopped and, after failing a roadside breath test, was arrested. He remains in police custody and is expected to be charged with various motoring offences.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team says it is dedicated to tackling criminal activity on the streets of Rochdale and is committed to bringing offenders to justice.
