Officers forced entry to the property on Muriel Street, Rochdale
Three people were arrested this morning as neighbourhood officers from GMP executed an early morning warrant on Muriel Street, Rochdale.
The trio – a man aged 36 and two women aged 28 and 32 – were each arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply both class A and Class B drugs. They remain in custody for questioning.
A quantity of cannabis was recovered during the morning work, in addition to mushrooms, snap bags, approximately £2,500 in cash, and other drug paraphernalia.
The work was conducted by GMP’s Rochdale Tutor Unit – which sees younger recruits conducting all manner of work ably supported by seasoned officers.
PC Richards, from GMP's Rochdale district, said: “We regularly conduct work to tackle drugs supply in Rochdale and this morning was a brilliant success in taking illegal substances out of circulation.
“By working closely with partners and specialist teams within GMP, we are able to ensure that we disrupt those who seek to cause issues within the community. What some people don’t see is the multiple problems that can offshoot from drug use: anti-social behaviour, addiction, financial problems, violence - by tackling drugs from their source, we can assist in prevention.
“Today was a great result and we will carry on conducting work whenever we receive intelligence. If you have any information about drugs in your area, please do get in touch with us.
“You can do this by calling 101, visiting gmp.police.uk, or contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
