Springhill Hospice launches The One Day Club with big backing from Crown Oil

Date published: 28 March 2024

As a charitable organisation, Springhill Hospice has to raise £8,000 per day to fund running costs; much of that is aided by their amazing Fundraising Department, but they rely heavily on local supporters from the community to help bridge the gap.

A new initiative has been launched called The One Day Club, for those who can, to fund an entire day of care at Springhill Hospice. This scheme is now open to corporate supporters and individuals, who want to make a difference to palliative care in the community. The first member of the club is the ever-supportive, Crown Oil of Bury. The company has supported the hospice for many years, and this incredible decision to donate £24,000 and cover three days of funding will make such a phenomenal difference to Springhill and all their dependants.

Not only that, Crown Oil have committed to being part of The One Day Club every year; agreeing to donate £8,000 annually going forward. Joanne Ali, Springhill’s community engagement officer said: "We are both delighted and indebted to the fabulous Greensmith family of Crown Oil, who are the founder members of our One Day Club. Such generosity and dedication to their local community is commendable, and we do hope other businesses will follow the lead taken by Crown Oil. By joining The One Day Club and donating £8,000 for hospice services per year, they will help Springhill be more financially secure in its future, ensuring the hospice is always here for those in need."

If an individual or business chooses to join The One Day Club, it isn’t just the hospice and their patients that will benefit. They can take comfort in the knowledge that they have made a direct impact to the lives of people living in the community. They will also receive a personal tour of Springhill Hospice with the chief executive, including the award-winning gardens with our head gardener, followed by refreshments. The new member will also have the option to dedicate their support of paying for one day on a chosen special date, and in memory of someone they love, along with many other benefits.
