Q Gardens in the Community
The volunteers at Q Gardens in the Community on Queens Drive in Rochdale are celebrating its first birthday with a remake of the garden.
The group reformed last February and have been busy designing new community beds, repairing the long beds and updating the community kitchen.
Thanks to funding from Rochdale Community Fund and Rochdale Borough Housing they have been able to build 10 new beds
Barbara Smith, the group's treasurer said: “Our vision is to invite community groups to come along, learn how to grow their own food and then we plan to run courses on how to prepare tasty food from the produce they have grown.
“We already have two groups using the garden, Become United and HMR Circle, but we are hoping to enthuse new groups of people into gardening and preparing home cooked food.”
Any community group wanting to be involved please contact Q Gardens on Qgardensinthecommunity@gmail.com or call in and have a chat any Wednesday or Sunday from 10am. You will be made very welcome.
The garden is situated on Queens Drive just off Queensway, Rochdale.
