Free Film&Screen National Saturday Club for 13-16-year-olds at Hopwood Hall College

Date published: 10 February 2024

A new free Film&Screen National Saturday Club for younger teenagers is launching at Hopwood Hall College this March.

The Film&Screen Club sessions will run 10am to 1pm on Saturdays from 2 March to 13 July.

The programme provides a unique opportunity for young people aged 13-16 to build and broaden their creativity and skills, discover their talents, and find out more about future careers.

Film&Screen club members will explore the exciting world of film, animation, games and visual effects for inspiration and explore the opportunities within the industry.

Each Saturday, they will be guided by professional film makers and digital artists to develop practical, technical and core creative skills for the industry, including filming, editing, sound, innovation, experimentation and creative visualisation.

The National Saturday Club has been running since 2009 and works in partnership with over 70 universities, colleges, and cultural institutions across the UK to deliver a free, year-long programme of creative, extracurricular activity for 13-to-16-year-olds, nationwide.

Each year, the programme gives thousands of young people the unique opportunity to study subjects they love for free on Saturday mornings, with a particular focus on engaging young people from underrepresented backgrounds.
