Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre
The Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre has been bought by the Blackburn-based Adhan Group.
According to Place North West, the group, which also owns other shopping centres across the North West, bought Rochdale’s oldest shopping centre for more than the £2.5m asking price earlier this week.
The shopping centre, which opened in 1978, was set to be auctioned off on 12 December by Allsop on behalf of the Martin Property Group, which bought the centre in August 2022.
The Rochdale Exchange spans almost six-acres and generates gross rent of £1.8m a year.
In the auction listing prior to sale, Allsop said the former market site in the Exchange was “under offer as a site sale to a global fast-food chain for a drive-thru restaurant.”
The Adhan Group has been contacted for comment.
