Brethren from the East Lancashire Masons – which encompasses Rochdale and Middleton – recently donated £1,200 to The Christie.
The funds raised have been allocated to the Oldham donation fund and will be used to buy new mannequin heads to display wigs at the Oldham Radiotherapy Centre.
In a letter to trustees, Hazel Rushton, of The Christie Charity, said: “We were delighted to receive a kind donation of £1,200 from the East Lancashire Masonic Charity. We would like to thank the trustees for this welcome gift; we very much appreciate your support.
“This welcome donation will make a real difference to cancer patients in Oldham and will help make this service more inclusive to all our patients.
“It is thanks to caring supporters such as yourselves that we are able to provide our award-winning care, conduct pioneering research and continue to be one of the world’s best cancer treatment centres, bringing us a step closer to a future without cancer.”
The East Lancashire Masons is comprised of Freemasons from Rochdale, Middleton, Oldham, Bacup and Todmorden.
