Rochdale lawyer climbing Mont Blanc for Stroke Association

Date published: 13 July 2023

A Rochdale lawyer will be climbing Mont Blanc in August to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Adam Ledger, a director and lawyer at Adam Ledger Property Law, will be climbing the 4,810m Alpine mountain over the course of two weeks.

The first week will be spent on the Mont Blanc circuit, before the second week will see him attempt the summit with the Montagne Expedition.

Adam hopes to raise £2,500 for the Stroke Association, saying: “I may be a bit optimistic with a target of £2,500 but I’m hoping to see this rise substantially nearer the departure date.”

Adam had already arranged to climb the European mountain before deciding to raise funds for the Stroke Association due to several reasons.

He said: “I was on the way to work and listened to the radio when I heard this interview about experiencing a stroke on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“One of my clients was only in her early 30s when she experienced a stroke and one of my friends who I play football with experienced a stroke in his late 40s.

“My wife worked on the Stroke Unit when she was training to become a nurse and explained that some of the patients had been there for almost twelve months and how their lives had been affected by this.

“All these events inspired me to raise money for the Stroke Association.”
