Vicar licensed to oversee three churches in local community

Date published: 22 March 2023

Reverend Sydwell Isaac has been appointed as the new vicar to oversee three churches in the local community.

Reverend Isaac was licensed by the Bishop of Middleton, Mark Davies, at an uplifting service on 14 March.

With over 12 years of experience in pastoral care and church leadership, Reverend Sydwell Isaac brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to this new role.

The three churches under Reverend Isaac's care include St Martin’s, Castleton; St George’s, Oakenrod; and St Aidan’s, Sudden. Each of these churches has its unique history and community, and Reverend Isaac is excited to get to know the congregations and serve alongside them.

Reverend Isaac said: "I am honoured and humbled to be appointed as the new vicar for these three churches.

"My focus will be on building relationships with the congregations and serving as a spiritual leader for each of these communities.

"I am excited to work together to continue the great work that has been done in these churches and to find new ways to grow and strengthen our faith."

The three parishes believe that Reverend Isaac's leadership will bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the three churches, and look forward to seeing how these communities will continue to grow and thrive under the reverend's guidance.
