Kashmir Youth Project to climb Snowdon for earthquake victims

Date published: 11 March 2023

Staff and volunteers at the Kashmir Youth Project will be climbing Snowdon on Saturday 18 March.

The climb will raise money for victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last month.

The earthquake of 6 February is one of the deadliest earthquakes in recent history with officials putting the number of deaths in Turkey alone at 45,968. In Syria more than 6,000 people are known to have lost their lives.

Those who survived are facing an uncertain future and are living in temporary shelters. At least 1.5 million people are now homeless with many businesses and livelihoods destroyed.

All funds raised will go directly to Islamic Relief, a UK based charity who have a 100% donation policy, meaning that every single penny you donate goes towards helping all those affected by this crisis.

Islamic Relief are already on the ground in Turkey and Syria providing help to victims, any money raised by KYP will go towards helping those affected by these atrocities to rebuild their lives.

If you would like to take part in the hike please contact KYP on 01706 630140 or email reception on reception@kyp.org.uk to register an interest.

Donations can be made directly via JustGiving.
