Sing! Littleborough
The Sing! Littleborough community choir relaunched on 22 February from new premises at Littleborough Cricket Club, raising funds for the homeless in the process.
The choir, which was started in 2017 by Rochdale musician and teacher Phil Reynolds, has been on a short hiatus since last year. The choir used to meet at the Falcon Inn until its closure in early 2022; the pub reopened in late 2022.
Sing! Littleborough has previously performed in many events including the ‘Manchester Together With One Voice’ event in Manchester’s Albert Square, plus local events like Little-Glastonboro and Christmas light switch ons.

Around 40 singers attended, including some existing members. The oldest singer on the night was an impressive 94 years of age.
Phil, the choir leader, talked about the history of the choir, ran through some vocal techniques and exercises and then sang through several well-known pop songs including ABBA, Bette Midler and Carole King.
They were joined halfway through by local legend actress Sue Devaney – straight from filming on the cobbles at ITV – who sang a couple of songs and talked about her connections with the homeless and interests in raising money and awareness for the issue.
The night raised over £200 for the local homeless charity Petrus who were on hand to discuss the work they do.
Phil added: “We are very grateful to Steve Clegg and the team at Littleborough Cricket Club for letting us use the room.”
The choir has been invited to take part in the big concert at Gorton Monastery for Shelter UK on 21 March as well as a video shoot on 2 April with fellow choir members from So Choir.
Sing! Littleborough meet weekly during term time 7.30-9pm on Wednesdays at Littleborough Cricket Club.
All new members aged 18 and over are welcome – no matter what experience (or confidence!).
