Rochdale: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Rochdale
Reason: To maintain essential deliveries to building works at Kingsway Park High School.
Expected start and finish: Monday 2 January 2023 – Thursday 31 August 2023.
Restriction and location:
Temporary prohibition of parking on Stiups Lane at the following points:

• The west side from its junction with Turfhill Road for a distance of 50 metres in a north easterly direction
• The east side, from a point 50 metres from its junction with Turfhill Road for a distance of 20 metres in a north easterly direction

Alternative route: Not applicable.

Reason: To reconstruct the pavements.
Expected start and finish: Monday 6 February 2023 – Sunday 19 March 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Palatine Street and Rathbone Street, for their entire lengths.
Alternative route: The alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: To repair a leaking water main.
Expected start and finish: Monday 13 February 2023 – Monday 6 March 2023 or until work is complete.
Restriction and location: Prohibition of vehicles travelling along the westerly side carriageway of Ings Lane from its junction with Edenfield Road for a distance of 75 metres in a northerly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Edenfield Road, Rooley Moor Road and Ings Lane.

Expected start and finish: 9am – 5pm each day, Monday 13 February 2023 – Thursday 30 March 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Lower Falinge, from its junction with Redcross Street for a distance of 100 metres in a westerly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Redcross Street, Waterhouse Street and Toad Lane.

Reason: To reconstruct the pedestrian island.
Expected start and finish: Monday 20 February 2023 – Friday 24 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Prohibition of vehicles from proceeding along Entwisle Road from its junction with Yorkshire Street for a distance of 15 metres in a south easterly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Belfield Road, Reservoir Street, Albert Royds Street and Halifax Road.

Reason: To install a new sewer in the road.
Expected start and finish: Monday 20 February 2023 – Sunday 26 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Prohibition of vehicles from proceeding along Stiups Lane from its junction with Turf Hill Road for a distance of 85 metres in a north easterly direction. Vehicles won't be able to travel in a north easterly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Turf Hill Road, Birkdale Road and Delamere Road.

• Percy Street from its junction with Kings Road for a distance of 130 metres in a westerly direction.

Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Half Acre Lane, for its entire length.
Alternative route: The alternative route will be Half Acre Road, Bury Road and Roch Valley Way.

Expected start and finish: Tuesday 21 February 2023 – Sunday 26 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of part of Muriel Street. This will be from its junction with Lockhart Street and Kings Road for a distance of 70 metres in an easterly direction.
Alternative route: There is no alternative route for vehicles.

Expected start and finish: Friday 24 February 2023 – Friday 10 March 2023.
Restriction and location: Prohibition of vehicles from proceeding along Royle Road from its junction with Silk Street to a point 160 metres in a southerly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is Silk Street, Manchester Road and Royle Barn Road. Residential access will be maintained.

Reason: To allow the safe delivery of works required for a new housing development.
Expected start and finish: Monday 22 August 2022 – Friday 26 January 2024.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Rothay Drive, from its junction with Bonscale Crescent for its entire length.
Alternative route: There is no alternative route for vehicles.

Reason: To facilitate drainage works and build a new site entrance.
Expected start and finish: Wednesday 25 January 2023 – Monday 10 April 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Don Street, from a point 165 metres north of its junction with Oldham Road for a distance of 107 metres in a northerly direction.

Restriction and location: Temporary prohibition of waiting at any time along the north side of Lodge Street. This will be from a point 24 metres east of its junction with Market Place for a distance of 55 metres in an easterly direction.

Area: Heywood
Reason: To repair a damaged sewer in the road.
Expected start and finish: Friday 17 February 2023 – Friday 10 March 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of part of Adelaide Street. This will be from a point 40 metres east of its junction with Queen Street for a distance of 20 metres in an easterly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is Queen Street, Longford Street and Queens Park Road.

Reason: To replace gas mains and carry out other works.
Expected start and finish: Monday 20 February 2023 – Friday 24 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of part of Schofield Street. This will be from its junction with Royal Avenue to its junction with Cowburn Street.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Schofield Street, Walton Street, Manchester Road, Manchester Street and Hardfield Street.

Expected start and finish: Tuesday 21 February 2023 – Friday 24 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of part of Ashworth Road. This will be from a point 440 metres north of its junction with Bury and Rochdale Old Road for a distance of 130 metres in a north westerly direction.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Ashworth Road, Bury and Rochdale Old Road, Norden Road, Bagslate Moor Road, Moorland Avenue and Edenfield Road.

Area: Pennines
Reason: To repair a water leak in the road.
Expected start and finish: Thursday 26 January 2023 – Thursday 23 February 2023.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of part of Shore Road. This will be from its junction with Shore Lea for a distance of 10 metres in a south westerly direction.

Area: Pennines
Reason: To repair a damaged sewer in the carriageway.
Expected start and finish: Thursday 2 February 2023 – Thursday 23 February 2023 or until the work is completed, whichever is sooner.
Restriction and location: Prohibit vehicles travelling south on Finance Street from turning right onto James Street.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is Finance Street, New Road, Arm Road and James Street.
