Date published: 17 January 2023

A team of volunteers provided a free lunch and food packs to the homeless and vulnerable from the Let’s Talk Centre on Drake Street on Thursday 12 January.

Lunch, food packs, soft toys and warm clothes were provided on the day.

A volunteer from the Let’s Talk Centre said: “People devoured the lunch and were delighted to receive the food packs, soft toys and warm clothing.”

Let’s Talk is a Rochdale charity offering a ‘wrap-around’ mental health service, set up by Humera Haqqani who was awarded an MBE last year.

Its centre is based at 74 Drake Street and provides free awareness programmes on a range of social issues from domestic violence and forced marriages to loneliness, anxiety and depression, as well as driving theory classes.
