The venues on Packer Street in Rochdale centre will temporarily close for 10 days until Friday 13 January for essential work on Town Hall Square.
The Flying Horse Hotel, Empire, Koko’s and Yates will all close on Tuesday 3 January to allow work on the town hall and surrounding area, including the Packer Street pavement, to be carried out.
The bars will all reopen with their usual operating hours on Friday 13 January.
Ben Boothman, landlord of the Flying Horse Hotel, said: “The venues have decided together it is for the best to get this work done as quickly as possible. If we didn’t, this work would be very disruptive and ongoing until the end of March.
“We’ve decided this is short-term pain for long-term gain and we look forward to reopening on the 13th.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we will be back open and better than ever as soon as this part construction is completed.
“In the meantime, we encourage you to follow us all on social media for updates on our reopening date and future events.
“Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you soon once we are back in action.”
