Christmas carols in Bamford

Date published: 15 December 2022

Over 300 people turned out on a crisp, clear night to sing Christmas songs on Bamford Green on Sunday 11 December.

The event was organised by Friends of Bamford who had worked hard to provide warm drinks and mince pies and to prepare special songs for the children to take part in.

Santa Claus arrived in time to give each child a present and a good time was had by all.

Ward councillor Angela Smith said: "Bamford is very fortunate to have the Green on which to hold events such as this.

"Friends of Bamford, a group of volunteers, have also been working hard on the Green over the past few years and it is now a lovely space, with gardens, benches and wooden sculptures. [It's] Not surprising that it won an Outstanding award in the In Bloom "It`s Your Neighbourhood" awards this year and last year."
