The purple Volkswagen seized by GMP Middleton officers
A dog was left abandoned in a car after a driver was pursued by officers in Middleton in the early hours of Tuesday morning (14 December).
Initially spotted by team XT18 from Greater Manchester traffic police, the male was left trying to escape police after he ‘contravened’ two red crosses on the M60 motorway and chose to keep travelling in the inside lane.
When his vehicle came off the motorway network, he then failed to stop for GMP Middleton officers, and a pursuit began.
Subsequently, the driver abandoned his vehicle and his dog.
The dark purple Volkswagen car was seized, and the dog was rescued.
