Joint winner The Image Warehouse: organiser Kath O'Donnell with judges Councillors Tom Besford and Janet Emsley, and Zoe Attwood
Busy Beans Coffee and The Image Warehouse beauty salon have been named the joint winners of this year’s Little ‘Pink’ Borough campaign in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The two businesses were declared joint winners by the judges, Councillors Janet Emsley and Tom Besford, and local resident and community hero Zoe Attwood.
Busy Beans, on Victoria Street, decorated their window with an Alice in Wonderland themed Mad Hatter’s Tea Party whilst The Image Warehouse, on Halifax Road, opted for a memory tree with poignant messages.
Becky and Danny O’Neill, of Busy Beans, said: “Thank you so much for this award. We had so much fun decorating the window for this amazing cause.
“It's so fantastic how everyone pulls together to create such a beautiful atmosphere throughout the village.”
Staff from The Image Warehouse said: “We were so please to win as it was our first year taking part. Thank you to all our clients who donated to this great cause.”
This year’s runner-up was Hunters Estate Agents; their window featured 'amazing' pink houses painted by children from Littleborough Community Primary School.
Organiser Kath O’Donnell, of The Three Amigos FUNdraising Group, said: “This year’s displays were absolutely outstanding, and you certainly excelled in raising cancer awareness, which is what it is all about. You certainly have done Littleborough proud!
“Congratulations to joint winners, Busy Beans and The Image Warehouse; photos of the ladies who work there [at The Image Warehouse] in pink wigs in frames was a nice touch.
“The judges had a very tough job today and deliberated for some time on the winners of the pink trophy. Thank you to the judges for their time and all of you who took part in the pink campaign; you are all stars in our eyes.”
Little ‘Pink’ Borough is in its sixth year and is sponsored this year by Graffic Detail.
