Date published: 16 August 2021

A Manchester man has been charged in connection with a series of vehicle thefts, including a van in Heywood, and the theft of tools in Greater Manchester.

Mason Crozier, 20, is set to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (19 August) after being charged with fraud by misrepresentation, making off without payment, and robbery.

A van in Heywood was taken, whilst payment for two cars, a van and tools was never received.

The keys to a Ford Transit van were grabbed from an address in Heywood on 6 July and the van taken.

Prior to this, a man attended a car dealership in Wigan on 7 December 2020 to buy a car. He showed a member of staff his phone to demonstrate funds had been paid via online banking, however the money was never received. This happened again concerning the purchase of a car at an address in Wythenshawe on Monday 8 March 2021, as well as with a van in Bolton on 13 July.

Money was also never received following the purchase of some tools in Stockport.
