Two Rochdale primary schools have been shortlisted for Education Business Awards.
Kentmere Academy and Nursery has been shortlisted for the Play Space Award, whilst Castleton Primary School has been shortlisted for the School Security Award.
The Play Space Award recognises the outdoor playground environment and spaces in nurseries/primary schools where innovative equipment creates opportunities for learning.
The School Security Award recognises the efforts to increase security through a combination of increased awareness in staff and pupils and the procurement and installation of additional security measures.
Kentmere is up against four other schools, whilst Castleton is up against two.
Both are the only Northern schools in their categories, competing against schools from Somerset, Kent, London, Ipswich, and Berkshire and the West Midlands, respectively.
The Education Business Awards have pioneered the recognition of school achievements since 1998. The 2021 awards will be presented live online on 8 July by celebrity host Jeff Brazier.
