Littleborough's Imagination Books raising money for new books for Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home and local hospitals’ children’s wards
Date published: 07 May 2021
The initial goal was reached, helping children have access to a range of quality books, something that can put a smile on their faces
Imagination Books – which is run by Littleborough couple Lizzie LeVardi and Niall Grindrod – is raising £250 for brand new books for the Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home and local hospitals’ children’s wards.
With an original target of £150 to fund new books for the Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home being met, their target has now increased by a further £100. Any donations above the original £150 will provide a range of brand new children’s books for children’s wards at hospitals local to Rochdale and within Greater Manchester.
“In the current climate, many children's homes in this situation have not received many public donations. We launched this fundraiser as a way of giving back to the community, with your help,” Lizzie explained.
“We decided upon extending the target once the initial goal was reached to continue helping more children have access to a range of quality books, something that can put a smile on their faces and a book that can give them a break from the real, crazy world.”
Lizzie and Niall will also be adding an additional 15% from their own pockets to donations, so that even more books can be provided.
They added: “We would like to say a massive thank you to anybody who has donated towards the fundraiser so far, in particular to Louise Rothwell, from I-Branded Ltd for their extremely generous donations towards our mission and helping us reach our first goal.
“Since achieving our initial goal, thanks again to the generosity of supporters, it has energised us to help as much as we can.”
“We would love to continue our mission and help many more children have access to a plentiful range of books. Our Just Giving page is the best way to contribute if anybody wishes to do so. Any kind donations are appreciated and will go a long way to spreading some smiles.”
