Local residents have been thanked for their generosity after donating money to a teenager’s sponsored walk around Hollingworth Lake in memory of his mum.
Ryan James Lambert, 14, of Stacksteads, walked three miles around the lake on Sunday (4 April), to raise money for the intensive care unit at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, which cared for his mum, Anne-Marie Lambert.
Anne-Marie sadly died of Covid-19 last month, aged just 45.
Over £100 was donated by locals as Ryan, his dad, Paul, and two of Ryan’s friends walked around the lake with donation buckets. In total, Paul estimates Ryan will have raised over £1,300 for the hospital.
He said: “Thank you so much to everyone who donated on the day as we walked around the lake.”
