Fire service rescues sheep from Greenbooth Reservoir

Firefighters rescued a sheep from Greenbooth Reservoir in Norden after it became stuck on a ledge on Sunday (8 November).

One fire engine from Heywood fire station and the Technical Response Unit from Leigh attended the scene after being called at around 11.30am.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Crews arrived quickly and used rescue equipment to recover the animal before handing over to colleagues from the RSPCA."
