Local residents and businesses are urged to have their say on a consultation to boost the town of Rochdale.
Last September, Rochdale was named as one of 101 places in the UK to share in the £3.6 billion Towns Fund, which aims to ‘support towns to build prosperous futures’.
Accessing up to £25m of government investing, Rochdale will benefit from a new ‘town deal’, which aims to boost towns through improving transport, broadband connectivity and providing social and cultural infrastructure.
The government chose the boundary for the town deal and the area where the money can be spent includes Rochdale town centre, Castleton, Smallbridge, Balderstone, Deeplish and Norden.
The first public consultation is running from 31 August and ends on 12 midnight on 14 September 2020.
The council wants to find out where you would like to see improvements and what you see as the priorities for investment.
Two surveys are available – seeking to establish the views of the general public and one specifically for businesses.
