Middleton man charged in connection with assault and attempted robbery

A Middleton man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery and assault in Rochdale.
Martin Edmund Dyer, 35, of Middleton, has been charged with attempted robbery, section 47 assault, section 39 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
Dyer appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 April 2020 where he was remanded in custody before his next appearance at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Wednesday 20 May 2020.
Shortly after 5.10pm on Monday 20 April 2020, police were called to reports of an assault on Boundary Street, Rochdale.
Officers attended and found a man had been assaulted. The man was going to the aid of his family who had raised the alarm of a man who was attempting to steal from the property.
