GP practices and pharmacies to stay open over the Easter Bank Holidays
Date published: 10 April 2020
Many GPs and pharmacies are set to remain open on Good Friday (10 April) and Easter Monday (13 April)
People across Greater Manchester will still be able to see a GP over the Easter Bank Holiday.
Many GPs and pharmacies across all of Greater Manchester are set to remain open on Good Friday (10 April) and Easter Monday (13 April).
Patients who need a GP should contact their normal practice. They will then either receive the help they need from their usual practice or be directed to a nearby hub.
Pharmacies across the city region will be open on Good Friday and Easter Monday from 2-5pm, at minimum.
By keeping GP practices and pharmacies open they can continue to provide care to those in need.
Patients with COVID-19 symptoms will continue to be advised to use NHS 111 online as the first port of call.
Urgent dental care provision will be available over the Bank Holiday weekend from treatment hubs across Greater Manchester. Patients experiencing dental pain or needing urgent dental treatment can access advice or be referred to one of the hubs by calling the Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service on 0333 332 3800.
A Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership spokesman said: “We are expecting Easter Weekend to remain a busy period for the NHS, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We hope that by keeping GP practices and pharmacies open we can continue to provide care to those in need.
“Thank you to all GPs, pharmacists and their staff working over the break.”
