Action Together launches community response fund

Date published: 08 April 2020

Accredited volunteer centre, Action Together has launched a Covid-19 Community Response Fund, available for groups from the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector working on a Covid-19 community response.

There are two pots of funding available for local community groups, up to £200, or up to £1,000.

Applications must meet either of these priorities:

  • Connecting local community action and help to co-ordinate efforts in response to the needs of residents. Action Together is especially interested in funding good neighbour, mutual aid and social action projects that directly help people affected by the effects of the virus
  • Action Together also wants to support the community, voluntary, faith and social enterprise sector to respond with new ideas that help, connect or support people through this crisis

You can apply for the fund here: www.actiontogether.org.uk/action-together-covid-19-community-response-fund-2020

Action Together is also sharing other funding available in response to coronavirus.

If you don’t need to access funding, but can help donate, Action Together is raising money for the emergency community response to coronavirus in Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside.

Your donation could help to provide telephone advice, support and companionship for older people to prevent them from feeling isolated during self-isolation, or it could help a local foodbank to provide food parcels to more homes than ever before. By donating, you could help a community group support local people.

All the money raised will go to local groups and charities to help them continue to provide vital support.
