Coronavirus: Heywood Civic Centre and Middleton Arena's theatre closed

Date published: 17 March 2020

Theatres at Heywood Civic Centre and Middleton Arena have been closed in line with government advice.

Link4Life said in a statement that they had closed both venues, although other facilities at Middleton Arena would remain open.

It said: “In line with government advice in relation to theatres and Venues, Link4Life has closed the theatre at Middleton Arena and Heywood Civic Centre.

“Unfortunately this means that the HAODS' production of ‘9-5’ is now cancelled. None of the planned performances will be taking place.

“Ticketing for ‘9-5’ was arranged directly by HAODS and the Society will be making contact with all ticket purchasers and arranging refunds. Heywood Civic Centre is not able to process refunds for this event.

“At the moment all other facilities at the Arena remain open.

“Link4Life’s management team continue to take advice and is liaising with partners and authorities to ensure that we follow best guidance to mitigate any risk to the public.

“We shall be in contact with ticket purchasers for shows and events as soon as possible and will provide you with an update within the next 48 hours regarding the exchange of tickets.

“We would like to thank you for your understanding and patience, and would also like to recognise the support of producers, promoters, artists and partners over this difficult period.”
