Become a Recycled Teenager at events near you!

Date published: 26 August 2008

People over 50 have many reasons to celebrate throughout September when the Recycled Teenagers festival hits venues across Heywood, Littleborough, Milnrow and Rochdale.

Organised and funded by Rochdale Borough Council in association with Link4Life, the Recycled Teenagers festival includes a variety of events that are certain to whet the appetites of the ever young at heart.

From writing classes and computer sessions, to ten pin bowling and a Mersey Beat Legends Sixties Night – there’s something for every ‘over 50’ to come along to and enjoy from Monday 8 September until Saturday 27 September.

Councillor Pauline Maguire, cabinet member for Older People, enthuses: “Whether you’re looking for an easy going learning session or a lively evening of entertainment, the Recycled Teenagers festival will have something for everyone. It’ll be a great way for people to share memorable experiences with friends or even make new ones.

“I look forward to watching everyone having a great time!”

Events are taking place in the Rochdale, Pennines and Heywood township areas within the following dates:

Rochdale: Monday 8 September to Sunday 14 September
Pennines (incorporating Littleborough and Milnrow): Monday 15 September to Saturday 20 September
Heywood: Monday 22 September to Saturday 27 September

Three detailed Recycled Teenagers event programmes have been produced covering the township areas of Heywood, Pennines and Rochdale – and are available for free from council customer service centres, libraries, community centres, leisure centres and libraries.

Programmes can also be downloaded from www.rochdale.gov.uk and www.link4life.org. Alternatively, please call Rochdale Borough Council on 01706 924928 – and we’ll be happy to send a programme to you.

Should you have any difficulty getting to any of the Recycled Teenager festival venues and you are a member of the council’s Ring and Ride service, please call 0161 624 4494. To find out more about becoming a Ring and Ride member, please call 01706 926 666.
