Rochdale firm help others have a fresh start this New Year

Date published: 21 January 2020

Staff at a Rochdale firm are helping people in the local area make a fresh start this New Year.

The team at Revilo Group, based on Bridgefold Road, Rochdale, raised £3,500 over the festive period and have already donated a number of household items to those with housing issues.

After handing out close to 200 presents to Rochdale Council’s ‘Giving Back’ Christmas toy appeal and a local Women’s Refuge, the employees at Revilo are now aiming to keep the cheer going all year through much needed support for Petrus’ community projects.

Revilo Homes & Mortgages Managing Director, Jemma Holden, said: “As a business we are always keen to help out where we can and with the new year presenting a fresh start for many, our thoughts naturally turned to those less fortunate.

“We have helped some wonderful causes of late, and we were particularly keen to continue our support of Petrus, who provide a wide range of services for the most vulnerable in our communities.

“Almost £2,000 of the total donated by the business has gone towards a number of household items, including vaccum cleaners, dishwashers and sofas.

“It’s been a real team effort, with everyone at Bridgefold Road - Revilo Homes, Mortgages, Insurance, Developments and Automotive - helping out in one way or another.”

Sonia Denham, Head of Petrus, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to receive community support. Through donations, we can provide some of the most necessary items and services for people facing or at risk of homelessness.

“At Petrus, a donation of £5 would cover the cost of two people to access our Hub services, where people can have a shower, wash their clothes and more importantly, get advice from trained staff.

“We want to thank everyone at Revilo Group for their kindness and are delighted to have their continued support.

“We rely on the generosity of others so if you’re interested in finding out how you can support Petrus, please visit our website: www.petrus.org.uk/donate.”
