Astonishment at Council promotional spending

Rochdale and Heywood and Middleton Conservative Associations have reacted with astonishment at the huge increase in promotional expenditure of Rochdale Council in the past year. As reported yesterday on Rochdale Online, Council taxpayers are having to fund a massive £2.2 million spent on self promotion by the Lib Dem controlled Rochdale Council.
Leader of the Conservative Group on the Council, Councillor Ashley Dearnley described the figures as "astounding" and went on to say: "at a time when the Lib Dems are cutting home care to the most vulnerable mebers of society such excessive spending is indefensible. Conservatives on the Council will be going through these figures with a fine tooth comb and will be challenging any further increases, now and during the budget setting process."
