RBH Extraordinary General Meeting

Date published: 13 November 2007

The Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) made necessary by the Council's refusal to use its vote at RBH's Annual General Meeting in September has finally been fixed for Thursday 15 November.

It had been arranged for Tuesday 20 November, but had to be re-arranged as Council Leader Alan Taylor requested so that he would be free to attend it.

In spite of the mysterious reference in the Council's Press Release the day after it had aborted the AGM to its intention to call an extraordinary general meeting to look at the constitution documents of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, in fact the Agenda for the EGM is the same as that for the AGM.

The only difference is that the Council has signalled that it will use its vote this time to pass the resolutions being presented to the meeting.

The main changes for tenants are that Keith Gordon's 5 years' service as Director will end with his representative role for Heywood being taken on by Heather Stott and Gill Walch will start a second term as representative for Rochdale North; and Area Panels wil replace Area Boards.

In the meantime the closing date for the vacancy of Director of Operations is soon - 16 Novmeber.

Although this is an entirely RBH appointment process, RBH are using specialist executive search and selection company EMA, with initial screening interviews taking place on 3 December and final assessments to be held on 13 and 14 December - both in the Rochdale area.

Following the screening interviews, successful candidates will be short listed for a further Board interview and a series of assessment tests.

The Chairwoman of the interview panel will be Councillor Barbara Todd and it is understood there will be one tenant and one independent joining her in a three person panel.
