Free fitness and sports sessions

Date published: 13 November 2007

Link4Life are taking part in Rochdale Borough’s Big Listen from 19-24 November with a chance for children from 6 upwards to try a range of fitness and sports sessions for free.

This annual event, organized by Rochdale Council, provides a week of activities for children and young people and this year’s theme is ‘Be healthy, be wise’.

During the week participating children and young people will be asked to say how they feel about health related issues and the kind of services they would like to see. The week culminates in a conference style event that brings key decision-makers together to listen to the views of young people.

Link4Life is offering free sessions at Littleborough Sports Centre with an after-school session from 4pm-5pm Monday to Friday that includes the Shokk Gym, Circuit Training and Trampoline. Rochdale’s Central Leisure has free ‘come and try it’ in their regular weekly Youth Gym sessions on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday plus a chance to try Street Dance on Thursday. Finally, Middleton Leisure Centre is running a free gym and dance session on Saturday 24 November from 2pm-4pm

For full details of the sessions visit www.link4life.org or contact the participating centres.
