Collision involving a police van

Two people have suffered broken bones after a collision involving a police van.
At about 11.00pm on Tuesday 19 August 2008, a police officer was driving on New Road (A58) responding to a call of a serious assault in Littleborough.
The police van collided with a Vauxhall Astra and the van also collided a Vauxhall Corsa.
Two people in the Corsa were taken to hospital. A 59-year-old woman suffered a broken collarbone and a 19-year-old woman suffered a broken right arm. Their injuries are not life threatening.
The police officer and the driver of the Astra suffered minor injuries.
