Littleborough Arts Festival wins vital funds

The Littleborough Arts Festival has been awarded a grant of £9,875 from the National Lottery Awards for All Programme.
The Grant will enable the Arts Festival Committee, in partnership with the community, to produce a Creative Littleborough brochure celebrating and promoting the wide range of arts activities that take place in the area.
Festival Chairman, Richard Cafiero said: “This is absolutely fabulous news enabling our plans for extending the festival, introducing more workshops and an arts and craft market to proceed and providing greater opportunities for people to attend and participate.”
The Littleborough Arts Festival will take place between Sunday 31 August and Sunday 7 September at the Coach House, Lodge Lane, Littleborough.
The festival will be launched by the Taiko Drumming Group ‘Tantara’ on 31 August at 2:30pm.
The opening times are as follows:
Sunday 31 August 12 noon to 5pm
Monday 1 September 12 noon to 5pm
Tuesday 2 September 12 noon to 5pm
Wednesday 3 September 12 noon to 5pm
Thursday 4 September 12 noon to 8pm
Friday 5 September 12 noon to 8pm
Saturday 6 September 10am to 5pm + Arts and Craft Market.
Sunday 7 September 12 noon to 5pm
There will also be a range of workshops offered which are as follows:
- Digital Photography on 20 August 2008. Book a place by contacting Maria Bracken on 07983 382668
- Pottery Workshops (Dates during the Festival week to be announced)
- Jewellery Workshop (This special workshop for two people will be raffled during the Festival). This is your opportunity to make a unique piece of jewellery with Jewellery Maker Yvonne Chadderton at her studio near Hollingworth Lake. Getting married? Why not enter the raffle and win an opportunity to make your own wedding rings.
- Littleborough Art Gallery will be hosting “Connections” an exhibition by Richard Cafiero from 3 September to the 11 October as part of the festival and Littleborough Art Gallery, 88 Church Street, Littleborough, will be open for the duration of the Arts Festival.
