Littleborough Food & Drink Festival 2019
The annual Littleborough Food Festival was back and bigger than ever for its fifth year on Saturday (8 June).
The food trail was bigger and better than ever with shops around Littleborough playing host to range of stalls, with delectable treats filling Hare Hill Road and Victoria Street.
A wide range of delicious foods were available throughout the town, such as Yorkshire pudding wraps, a hog roast, burritos, plus traditional street foods.
Sweet treats on offer included large filled doughnuts at Veggie Vixen, handmade brownies and cakes from Ridiculously Rich by Alana, artisan flapjacks from Wildebakery and Sugar Chic’s handmade fudge.
Entertainment was provided throughout the day by Wardle Junior Blast with Lee Rigg, The Jager Maestros Oompah Band, Little Jazz Funk Orchestra and Sing Littleborough, plus energetic Zumba with Caroline Longden.
Cookery demonstrations showed great culinary prowess from The Green Door’s Graham Sherwin and Littleborough Deli’s Andy and Jade McKay.
Back by popular demand, little chefs also learned how to make tasty treats at the cookery school, children’s crafts took place at Star Tree Studio and many faces were painted by Vix Facepainting.
Littleborough Coach House hosted a special craft fair whilst Dudley Doolittle performed at the Cherry Tree Café.
Councillor Ashley Dearnley, a volunteer at the food festival, said: “The Littleborough Food Festival is a great event. Everyone has said that this year’s was better than ever. People have travelled for miles for this successful event, thanks to the wonderful support and organisation of the people of Littleborough.
“It has been a resounding success.”
Sponsor Ben Boothman, of the Hare on the Hill, said: “This is the first Littleborough Food Festival we’ve been a proud sponsor of. Everyone was in good spirits and we can’t wait to come back and sponsor the food festival again next year.”
Organised by LEAF, the Littleborough Events and Associations Forum, the event was sponsored this year by Littleborough Deli, Graham Sherwin, Andrew Kelly Estate Agents and The Hare on the Hill.
