Around 70 firefighters tacked a large blaze in Simister Lane, Middleton at 3.00am today, Wednesday 5 June.
There were ten fire engines in attendance along with specialist vehicles.
The fire, involving an empty tanker, spread to an adjacent building.
Firefighters used four jets and other specialist equipment to tackle the fire.
Two fire engines remain at the scene and are expected to remain in attendance for the day.
