‘Benidorm or Bust’ charity drive raises hundreds of pounds for Blood Bikes Manchester

Date published: 21 May 2019

Two men from Castleton and Middleton have raised just under £1,000 for Blood Bikes Manchester with the annual ‘Benidorm or Bust’ car rally.

Wayne Pritchard, 46, a van driver from Castleton and Stu Carey, 43, a joiner from Middleton, entered the car rally earlier this month with a Peugeot 206 they bought specially for the 1,400-mile driving challenge.

The duo drove to Dover on 14 May before taking a ferry to Calais the following day. The first leg of the four-day event then took them from Calais to Orléans, France ready to progress to Benidorm.

Wayne and Stu chose to raise money for Blood Bikes Manchester, which helps the NHS by rapidly transporting and delivering blood and other medical equipment between hospitals.

Wayne said: "We got there and back with no problems whatsoever. It was a very good trip and we are happy to have raised just under £1,000 for Blood Bikes Manchester."
