The sinkhole
A sinkhole appeared on Market Street in Whitworth on Tuesday (14 May).
The sinkhole, near the junction of Thornylea, below the Co-op, occurred during the evening and has been blocked off by Highways.
It is unknown how long repairs will take.
Lancashire County Council has been contacted for comment.
