A motorcyclist was left fighting for his life after his motorbike had collided with a lamppost on Heywood Old Road in Middleton shortly after 7.10pm on Sunday 12 May.

Police and ambulance services attended and a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for life threatening injuries.

PC Seamus Toal of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man as he fights for his life in hospital, and his family who are by his bedside.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch, in particular those who may have dash-cam footage of the incident.

“We hope to be in a better position to give the man’s family the answers they crave in the coming days.”

Anybody with information should contact the GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 alternatively 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
