UPDATE (10.20am on 12 April): Syed has been found safe and well.

A missing man from Great Lever could be in the West Yorkshire area after getting on a bus in Rochdale.

Officers trying to find 35-year-old Syed Zahir Abbas now know he got on board the 10.30pm bus at Rochdale yesterday evening (Thursday 11 April 2019).

The bus was heading towards Oldham and Ashton so it could be possible that Syed is in the West Yorkshire area.

People in both Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire are urged to keep an eye out for him.

He is described as Asian, of a large build and approximately 6ft 1in tall. He was last seen wearing a black Jubba (traditional Islamic dress similar to photo) with a brown coat over the top.

Syed has some learning difficulties and cannot speak.

Please can you contact police on 101 if you have seen Syed.
