Save the date for the first Castleton car and bike show this summer

Date published: 10 April 2019

If you're interested in cars, scooters, bikes, tractors, or anything with wheels, save the 14 July 2019 in your diary because that's when the inaugural Castleton car and bike show will take place at the Mayfield Sports Centre.

The event is the brain child of local car and bike enthusiasts, Pete Duffy and Mark Foster.

Pete said: “I've always enjoyed going along to car and bike shows and have wanted to put something like this on for years. I got together with Mark and we decided that the time is now, and we should run one of our own.

“We are pleased with the amount of interest we've had so far with places being booked rapidly. The show will be sponsored by Rochdale Car Auctions. As well as local car clubs looking to take part, we've had interest from all over the north west: we've had enquiries from a scooter club, a trials group, a Land Rover club, to name but a few.”

There will also be an auto jumble, craft and gift stalls as well as fairground rides.

Pete added: “All in all, there's something for everyone and we'd like more.”

The organising committee has nominated the local SG6 Steven Gartland Foundation as their chosen charity and hope to be able to make a sizeable donation from monies raised.

Individuals or businesses interested in either entering a vehicle, having a stall or getting involved can do so by ringing Pete on 07831 672240, or Mark 07849 725236.
