Spanish students visit VIVA Festival

Date published: 02 April 2019

Kingsway Park High School Year 9 classes studying Spanish visited ‘HOME Cinema’ in Manchester as part of the VIVA Festival.

This was the VIVA Festivals 25th birthday of celebrating Hispanic culture across the world.

There was a wide range of films to choose from and the students decided on a film called ‘Yuli’; a true story about the famous Cuban ballerina, Carlos Acosta.

A spokesperson for Kingsway said: “It was a fantastic film showing Yuli’s difficult path to fame and his emotional relationship with his father.

“It was a great opportunity for the students at Kingsway Park to get a deeper insight into Cuban history and culture to support them with their GCSE studies.

“The students are already asking about the next Spanish film trip.”
